Aluminum doesn't behave like steel. It moves heat differently, hides an oxide layer that has to come off, and needs the right filler for the job. We treat it as its own discipline — not a shortcut off steel work.

Heat dissipation
Aluminum pulls heat away from the weld puddle fast. We stage the joint, control travel speed, and pre-heat thicker sections so the puddle forms cleanly instead of chasing a cold plate.

Oxide layer
Aluminum forms a tough oxide skin that melts far hotter than the base metal. We clean and prep every joint — stainless brush, dedicated to aluminum — right before striking an arc.

Filler & alloy match
4043 vs 5356 isn't a coin flip. We match filler to the alloy and the job — strength, ductility, color match after anodizing, or resistance to cracking under vibration.

Distortion control
Thin aluminum warps if you run it hot in one pass. We tack, sequence, and stitch to keep panels flat and assemblies square.
TIG for finish. MIG for production.
TIG (GTAW) for clean, controlled welds where fit and finish matter — thin sheet, tank work, visible seams. MIG (GMAW) with a spool or push-pull gun for longer runs and thicker plate. We choose the process to fit the job, not the other way around.
